Continued issues with Willow :(

The one word to describe Willow today... grumpy. Not her usual hard headed fiesty grumpy just plain grumpy. Nothing I do is to her liking, not feeding her fast enough, not keeping what falls out of her mouth picked up in time as it may touch her. What your cleaning me how dare you I shall now shake everything out of my mouth at you. Dont touch her when she falls over and wont slow down to stop running sideways (because she doesnt walk anywhere its always run).

Then you have the other moments where I come into the room and she stumbles out of her pigloo to stare up at me with those big eyes and wheeks at me until she is picked up and cuddled.

I think she is still feeling the effect of the GA. Feeding her today is taking twice as long, I manage about 15ml in an hour because she dribbles half of everything out the side of her mouth. On the other hand she is taking water better from me then she ever has. Just going to take a lot of time I think.

Its almost 10:30pm and I have managed around 90ml in her. She is tired, I will try another good feeding at 11:15 and then let her rest for a few hours and start again at 3am.

Thank you for asking about her, I always tell her while she is eating about what people on here say. I think I may be loosing it :s

That's lovely you tell her about this place! I hope there's a little improvement in her today. I suppose she could be a bit grumpy from being groggy and that from the GA? I think it's a good sign though that she's showing her personality like that, means there's fight in her!xox

I agree with carrot_and_parsnip - grumpiness is good! :) Sounds like you're doing a great job and she's getting there (especially with coming out of the pigloo and wheeking) :) xx

Well Willow is eating a little better, at least I mean things are staying in her mouth a little better. Although when I did get to take a peek at her front teeth (it seemed very sore to move her lips) her bottom teeth are tiny nubs. The only reason I can see they did this was the vet had said her teeth were growing in crooked. Maybe she cut them short so they can grow back straighter since her head tilt isnt as bad? Her vet wasnt there when we picked her up it was another vet and he didnt say anything about this. So I am not holding out on her eating anything solid for awhile. She cannot eat out of her mush bowl between feeding anymore due to her balance either.

But on a strange note... does anyones guinea pigs climb? I know this sounds completely weird but Willow has issues walking due to what seems her back leg being weak on one side. But she can go from the floor climb to your lap and up you in hops faster then my rat could. Could this maybe be nautures way of compensating? We arew trying to do heat treatments on the weaker leg and anything we can think of to make it stronger. Its that side of her body thats weak and causes her to fall over.

Oh and she wants cuddles now more then anything else. but its 9pm and already have 104ml in her and hours of cuddles :)

Glad to hear she's eating better, and her teeth should grow longer soon enough... My pigs do climb onto my lap and jump around a bit on their platforms and ramps but its nothing hectic. I have seen videos on Youtube of piggies that jump from the floor of their cage onto something else and then onto the top of their pigloo and the like... But I'm not sure about a kind of compensation? Possibly, I have no idea... Sorry about rambling a bit. :) Have fun cuddling and healing thoughts xx
