As I didnt want to hyjack a different thread - I was reading the thread on 'local shows'

I was kindly pointed to the forum rules on promoting rescue ( which I am all in favour of) but not allowing breeding and showing topics.

what I would like to know is that as you don't allow topics on intentional matings

how on earth do you have an un-intentional mating?

surely if you house different sexes together then this will occur sooner or later? - probably sooner

If my post is not allowed I would be grateful for a moderator reply, and accept the thread will disappear

unintentional is found to be pregnant from a petshop, mis-sexed that is allowed. Not the know-hows on how to breed (but thats not rocket science is it.) >:D

I just thought you would be promoting all aspects on keeping g/p's

but the boss is the boss, and they make the rules!

we did let our two girls each have babies - along time back - as we felt this is just natural and to remove this 'right' seems cruel to us.

Your girls did not choose to become pregnant, you made the decision for them. An animal can not tell you if it wants to have babies.

Unintentional breeding is a litter that was unplanned.

What they don't know doesn't hurt them. My girls have not had babies, they have adopted daughters and one takes the roll of mum. The line of thinking here is too many pigs die through giving birth so it's not promoted. :)

When the forum was first opened we made the decision to be pro rescue and not allow any discussion of breeding. However we discovered there were a lot of people who had taken in rescue pigs who were pregnant and needed help and support hence the decision to allow discussion of non intentional breeding.

There are plenty of pro breeding forums out there for people to discuss showing, breeding etc and therefore it is not necessary for us to allow that kind of discussion.

I have not removed this thread as I think it contains important information but members are reminded that the easiest way to have questions answered is to PM a mod or admin directly and that discussion of intentional breeding is not allowed as it is in breech of the forum rules.
