I am deciding to convert to fleeces because I didn't know shavings caused breathing problems!

How many fleeces do you have? I was thinking of getting around 8 so I can wash
etc with out panicking.

What can i use to absorb the pee? ( would I be changing daily?) was thinking newspapers.

I have also seen some cosy beds for them on ebay.-c

If you work on One in use, one in wash, then how many you want as ready to use. Depending on the number of piggies per cage dictates how often it'd need replacing but most people spot clean every day & do a full replacement every 3-5 days.

When i have piggies indoors i use towel under fleece but you can use newspaper under too which would need replacing frequently as it'll get wet quickly. :)

Thanks. I have some old towels and tea towels. I will ise them because I find newspaper is really useless with the pee of three pigs, who insist on walking thorugh their water bowls too.

Oh bless them, they like getting their feet wet :))
I use news paper then towels then fleece.
Pop clean every day and a full clean out every 2 days.

xxxxxxxxxx

I have 4 so I don't have to wash every day.
I use newspaper and shedded paper then newspaper again, changed every 2-3 days for 2 pigs.
I also try to collect poo and peed-on hay every day or so so that the litter remains fresh longer.

I have 4 so that I can change out so I don't have to worry about washing too often, but because they dry so quickly I find that most of the time I'm swapping the same 2.

I put puppy pads under the fleece and it works really well. All the moisture is locked away and I haven't encountered any smell problems.

I have three full sets of fleece for each cage. Only two full sets of towels though, so I don't get away with not doing the washing within a day or two of cleaning out!

I have 2 sets of fleece for my 6 guineas. I put paper underneath only. I was using towels but to change the cage was taking 2 washes so am trialing ditching the paper.

I sweep through every day replacing some newspaper and do a full clean every other day. I have to say i do find my cage smells a bit even with the cleaning so soften but then I think its smelled whatever I have used so it's not the fleece it's the volume of pigs in one space.

You can say you need this many but when you see more you want you will have a ton!

thats a good idea about the puppy pads, cuz you can get theose from most pound shops and that now you know! gemx

with my girls cages, I spot clean every day...sometimes every other...but i've noticed with them getting older, they are drinking alot more...which equals more Wee.... :) I have 4 blankets, and only use newspaper underneath, when i have two blankets dirty...i wash them....so there is always a 'cushion'....if i miss and end up with three dirty -c

I need more newspaper though....i'm out.... mallethead Just noticed mallethead
