I just can't seen to understand why Cookie doesn't get on with Maisey. When i get them out together. Cookie's so bossy to her, she hits her to bits. I've heard that it's best to put a baby pig with an older one because the baby pig tags onto the older one etc. But Cookie hates it when Maisey follows her and hits her.
I can't understand when i see other small pigs with older pigs they seems to get on and i see them snuggled up together like the best of friends.
They are not in the same cage. You can't trust Cookie with her because incase she beats her so much, she'd kill her!
I thought Cookie would love a new friend after loosing my girl piggie Brandy this year (even though she was bossy with Brandy too)

Cooke just hates Maisey's guts. 8...

It's just how they are. Cookie is just asserting her dominance.

In 16 years of keeping piggies I've yet to see a piggy hit another one, though. Kind of puts an image like this in my mind. :))

I know what you mean. Cookie turns on Maisey, and nips her or chases her.
She may even back her into a corner so Maisey is squeeking her head off in fear. All my pigs have gone through this at some point, you really have to:
1) put them on neutral territory where Cookie doesn't seem so confident and in charge. I put mine to free range in the hallway.
2) Clean out Cookie's hutch or cage, thourghly - maybe move hiding places/toys around so it's like a new cage.
3) Once they're together, leave them together to sort it out. It's easy to be protective over Maisey because she's small etc but if you keep taking Maisey away and re introducing them, it will stress Cookie out.

Thanks starla.

Cookie and Maisey are at the side of me sitting on their fleece on the sofa. They were eating veggie peelings together, but Cookie hit her once but now they are laying down and Cookie's being good.

i can't really put them in the same cage because the cages they have are small, they are big enough for one piggie but for two it'll be too cramped and then Cookie will hit Maisey because there's not much room.

wow where's that picture from? lol is it from a new film?

She hits Maisey with her teeth. Sometimes i have to put my arm/hand in to protect Maisey then she ends up hitting me, and i know it's her teeth and it stings lol

Sometimes whilst out of their hutch Eliza chews on Connie's ear and makes her squeak but them when I take Eliza away, Connie calls for her so now I just leave them to get on with it.
