Hi all well we had another vet trip for Cooper yesterday as his fungal was getting worse,
I did give him a wash in fidos(lice wash),he's had all doses of ivomec and i was using betadine for the fungal, so seeing as he wasnt getting any better i thought we needed to try a different treatment.
She also found his grease gland was infected
My vet is quite knowledgable on pigs but she wasnt keen on me using my gorgeous guineas products :{ so heres the plan

Wash each day in malaseb for 10 days and leave on for 10 minutes each time-
then straight after massage in some aloveen to stop his skin getting itchy and dry
Baytril twice daily each dose is 0.2ml for 7-10 days
metacam-0.05ml twice daily for 3 days and then once daily for another 3-5 days

She also did skin scrapes and did confirm fungal.

Oh and Windsor-Duke (coopers friend) now has fungal too,not really bad but he is getting the same treatment just no baytril or metacam as he is comfy.
Coopers feet also seem to be giving him trouble, his nails have been getting clipped right back but they just keep bending more sideways,I'm hoping bumblefoot does not occur,i am using a GG preventative foot product on him as his feet keep getting a little too red.
I am off to get him a probiotic today as she forgot to mention i needed that too
I just need to know taht what I'm doing is right and if i should take any other course of action?
Poor boy,I'm not sure why these things keep happening to him
Thanks for all the help x

That's the trouble. If one piggy has it, then the other sure will. I just take my three girls altogether saves lots of wasted trips.

Hope the little fellows get better.x

I can't advise you on the treatment, but I'm sending lots of vibes to poor Cooper-Beau and his little friend!

Hi Bonnie, sorry to hear this is still going on for poor Cooper-Beau and now Windsor-Duke too! Sometimes these skin problems can be so stubborn.

The treatment actually sounds reasonable to me, I don't think I would suggest anything different. Malaseb is said to be good for fungal - fingers crossed it works!
