Corn Cob?

So today I needed to get new bedding, and all they had at the store I was at was corn cob bedding or cedar. (Of course I didn't choose the cedar). From what I read on the package, it seemed pretty good. I put it in Pepsi's cage and he seems to love it...he got happy feet and was running around in circles, almost popcorning (but then he never quite makes it a true popcorn lol). He gets around on it pretty well and I LOVE that it doesn't stick to his food.

Anyways, I just wanted to double check that corn cob bedding was okay.

i never heard of it beofre until you mention it so i have not got a clue,lol

I've not seen/heard of it either though mine adore eating corn on the cob too and just keep at it until every last bit is gone so if that bedding smells in the slightest like sweetcorn i think they would just gobble it all up!

Pepsi seems to love it! He was running happy laps on it...at 2AM. The only complaint I have is that it's LOUD.
 
sounds good - I always wanted a swimmingpool full of jelly so I think this would be fab for piggies! :))

How much is it per bag / how big are the bags, is it good value for money compared with other bedding? shavings, megazorb etc etc
 
Interesting never heard of it before either.

I always liked the idea of a custard swimming pool. Only because you can walk on custard and thats always cool! :(|)

I looked into using this a few years ago, i looked on various sites and quite a few seemed to suggest it moulds easily therefore would not be suitable as a bedding unless you clean out often which most people do but i dont think its suitable if you do like once big clean and just poop scoop during the week, i would only use it if you were cleaning the full cage daily or every other day as mould can be harmful.
 
I clean my cage fully every third day, and I doubt any bedding would go mouldy after that time. I mean, sometimes I miss the odd bit of fresh fruit or veg on an evening that they have not eaten, and when I find it after two days still lodged behind some house, it has not gone mouldy either.

Of course, we are talking indoors here. Outdoors or in a slightly damp shed might be a different matter.
