I feed my piggies corn on the cob when cheap and in season during August/September onwards.
I feed them the outside green leaves, take out the stringy bits and dispose of them, and then let them have the cob to strip and nibble on. It keeps them happy for hours.

They love it ... does anyone else feed their pigs on this?

I went to Sainsburys today and although it wasn't cheap, I bought 4 cobs for £3 but unfortunately it was pre-packaged with no green leaves. Just off out to the shed to let them see their treat!

Mine love them but they only get them when in season as they are better than O0

Mine aren't over keen I usually buy baby corn though and do get the leafy ones from Lidl in Aug/Sept. I usually chop them up. :)

I gave my two girls corn on the cob today and they've just ignored it, I don't think they realise it's food although it is in their food bowl. How can I get them to try it? Do you hang it up somehow?

mine have a tug of war over it, and i take a cuppa and sit and watch it is so funny, i get mine from the farm shop, but i am trying to grow some this year, not sure if i will be successful

Mine absolutely love it, though I never seem to get it with the leaves on. They sometimes also like the babycorns, but I feel like the big ones are better for their teeth.

I give mine corn on the cob, leaves, silks and corn- they just adore it.
Corn cobs are good to grind down the teeth.
If you don't want to give a whole cob, cut it in half, put it in aluminium foil and keep in the fridge for another three days. (Mine just don't last that long!)

Mine absolutely love the leaves! They eat the corn too, but prefer the leaves. :)

I adopted two new girls yesterday and gave them some corn on the cob too, but they're not as fascinated by it as my other girls... :(

Spike adores baby corn, when I tried him with a whole cob, he found it amusing to pull of all the corn and play with it and so we had a mountain of waste corn in his cage. ::)

Yes they are expensive out of season. My piggies love them too. Tescos are doing 50p each at the moment.

I just tried it with mine and they just sniffed and walked by it, and headed to the hay rack :(

good thing I only bought one

Mine love them i give them a whole one to share they pay tug of war and run and hide with it before eating it ;D ;D

They love baby corns to :)

Bridget absolutely adores corn on the cob but doesn't like baby corn...funny little thing!

Mine had corn on the cob the other night but tonight they have decided that they no longer like it - what a waste! 98) Wee rascals! They do like baby corn.

I buy corn on the cob and cut it up into about three portions then freeze the bits I'm not giving straight away!

The season is next month starting from I believe! O0 Bring it on O0

Yes, bring on the reasonably priced corn on the cob season ... coz I love them as well! ;D ;D

I did a search on the internet under "pick your own" and it brought up all my local pick your own places near me and the fruit and veg that they grow.

Roll on August and September as I will be out there picking lots of corn on the cobs for my piggies .... although Asda sells them cheap at that time of year, surely picking your own must be fresher? We, as a family, love them also!

I didn't even know that they could eat corn no the cob! :) I will have to try and feed Ted some. CUTE! :smitten: :smitten: Maybe he will like it!
