Does anyone know where I can buy a corner Guinea pig cage that’s off the floor? My son is starting to crawl and I don’t want him to get into the Guinea pig cage. I’m having difficulty finding a corner type style anywhere. Do anyone know where I can buy one or anyone that makes them?

I was looking to find or have one made something kind of like this.

Thank youu!

I quickly browsed the internet and this is the only corner style guinea pig cage that I could find. I hope this is what you're looking for. :)

Depending on how many piggies you have, this may or may not be too small.
Or you it may suit you to have a C&C cage on a DIY table? The table being to keep the cage off the floor so the toddler can't get in. Or you could have a C&C cage with a DIY roof?
I hope this helps give you ideas and hopefully helps you find a suitable cage. :tu:

Hello!
How many piggies do you have? Are they male or female?
Unfortunately the cage linked above appears to be too small even for a female pair (I couldn't see the dimensions very well, so correct me if I'm wrong 🙂) as they don't benefit from multiple levels. The cage has to meet the requirements on the base level.
As @Zorro1 has said, have you considered a C&C cage? They are fairly cheap and very customisable. A female pair would need at least a 2x4 grid cage l, while a male pair would need a 2x5. These can be made into any shape you need. For example, a 2x4 is equivalent to a 3x3, etc. You can usually find sets online that give you the grids you need and a pre-cut sheet of chloroplast (corrugated plastic often used for signs), but you can also go on eBay or Amazon and buy grids, and get sheets of chloroplast that you would then need to size and cut yourself.
You can make stands for these types of cages pretty easily, and make a lid if need be as well.
Hope this helps 😊

You can get Perspex to use with the c&c grids now. I used cable ties as extra attachment. I bought a kit that has a grid base ( for storage) and a lid and came with corex pre cut.

I live in the US. I have two boy piggies. Yeah I wasn’t interested in the two levels of it either just the concept haha. I had been looking for one like Zorro1 suggested but I can’t ever seem to find that one out here. I have a CC cage now but it’s just exhausting and I never really have time reconfigure it.

The reconfiguration should be fairly straightforward…did you build using connectors or cable ties and connectors? How many grids do you have at the moment? We could help you figure out how to build it on a stand (with storage underneath).

The alternative is to buy a table that you can sit two joined cages on. You could actually do the same with a c&c - sit it on a table. Or, you could set up a permanent play pen around the c&c (or the biggest commercial cage possible) that they could have permanent access to 24/7. That way your son would be able to get near but not into it - if the sides are high enough.

Right now I have 3 by 3 of the panels they’re all zip tied and use the little parts that connect the corners. I have it ontop of a plywood board that has a plastic cover on top of it. I would have to cut the plywood and all that to reconfigure.

I wish I could find a place that could build one for me. I have the picture of it in my head but I’m not very crafty😂

So you have a 3x3 cage? Ideally you would want to make this cage a little bigger (the recommended size is a 2x5 or equivalent) as boys require more space than girls do. If they are young, you may find that once they get older, they could start to fight over that territory if they don't have enough space to get away from each other.
If you could, maybe you can take a photo of your set-up for us? It would help us to give you more specific advice for the space you have ☺️

Ahh shoot scratch that they don’t deliver outside of the UK 😩

What measurements is it?
Can you post a picture of the actual item rather than a link?

I know that some of those pawhut items aren’t suitable/big enough for piggies

I’ll have to measure if I can fit that one in here. I found this one. I kind of like the concept of the built in house area. This is my cage I have now.

Hi! This is my homemade house for my piggies. I have a solid piece of wood that the plexi-glass and wood frames are attached to. I have the whole thing sitting on the Ikea trofast units (I included the link for the unit). TROFAST Storage combination with boxes, white/white, 39x173/8x22" - IKEA I have two back to back as I need two for the size of this cage. I built this cage when my youngest was 2 and he was able to look at the piggies and not touch them. This has worked great for us, but will need to make some changes as he is getting into more mischief. The Trofast units are just the right height that it doesn't hurt my back to clean the piggies' house.

This grey cage with the rabbits in comes to 11 sq ft. It measures 116x90cm.
Just over the smallest space you’d want for two male piggies.
(Shame it shows it as being suitable for two rabbits when it doesn’t even come close to the size needed for them)

A word of advice about your current cage - I would add in a lot more hay but also decrease the amount of pellets considerably. They should only have one tablespoon of pellets per pig per day

The rabbit cage you linked to barley meets the minimum and as the measurements are taken from the outside then I would say it is too small.

Have you though about putting a notice somewhere like a local DIY store and asking if someone could build a cage for you?
There are a lot of handy people out there, and if you know what you want it may even work out cheaper to have it built.

I loveee your cage! The IKEA units would be perfect to put a cage on top of and for storage! Thank you so much! I wish I could build a cage like that. Yours is amazing!

There usually is a lot more hay they had just eaten a great portion of it 😂 And oh my no wonder my boys are so chunky ! I usually just fill the bowls up with pellets. 😬 Thank youu!

I think I may just go with the first cage I posted that was the right size for the both of them.

Thank you so much everyone! You’ve all been so helpful! 💕💕
