One day after the fight between my boys, Cornflake is doing well, still eating and drinking. I've been cleaning the cut on his mouth with lukewarm salt water. Here's a pigture of my baby, recovering from his fight and after a quick bath to clean him up and keep him tidy. He's on fleece in a smaller cage right next to my bed, until he gets all better. (:

Keep up the good work.

HEALING WHEEEEEEEKS FOR CORNFLAKE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Thats great news, glad he is doing well! Sending healing vibes that he gets better soon x

Aww poor little guy, think i missed your thread on this. Sending my healing vibes, hope he feels better soon!

It's been two days since Cornflake got hurt and everything seems to still be going smoothly. From what I can see the swelling has gone down, he's still active, and there's no smell or puss or anything. The fleece he's been on reeks though, i need to wash his other one tomorrow so i can switch them off. rolleyes I cleaned his ears today (: It was my first time cleaning a pigs ears. With Hash her ears were brown so I didn't notice the dirt, so i neverr thought they were dirty. Anyways, That went well, he didn't much like it though, he kept shaking his head. :)) I'll keep you guys posted! Thanks for al the support.

fingers crossed for that little cornflake is all ok, I'm sure he is improving every day with the love and attention you obviously give him.

I hate to say it but it seems as if something has begun to go wrong with Cornflake. He seems weak and not himself. I took him out of his cage to have his lip cleaned, (I had started cleaning it every second day as it seemed to be healing very well) and he went to run away but when he ran it was almost like he didn't have the energy. He took a few slow steps and just stopped. I checked him over, like I've been doing everyday, and there was no smell, his lip seemed okay, nothing physically seems wrong with him. No physical signs of infection, or anything. One thing I did notice was some flakey, dry looking skin on his ear, which makes me worry that he's caught the same infection that Hash died from. He's scheduled for the vets tomorrow morning at 10: 00am. I'll make sure to let everybody know how it went.

I hope everything turns out ok :(
Thanks, I'm really hoping that if it is an infection that he just got it, and hasn't had it for a while. I mean I didn't notice anything wrong with him. He still ran around and ate and drank, after the accident. I honestly don't even think it's his lip I checked it and got a really good view of the inside of it and it turns out it wasn't even cut right through, it's healed really good on the inside and now there's just a little scab left on the outside. But whatever it is we'll find out tomorrow.

I brought Cornflake into the vet's today because he was a little sluggish yesterday, only to find out... (drumroll) he's absolutely perfect, and there's nothing wrong with him at all. :)) I'm so happy, she gave him a full check, and said his feet were in amazing condition and that she hasn't had a guinea pig come in there without cuts or ulcers before, she said he's a little small for one but she weighed him, and he's 2 pounds, and even though he's small he's still a healthy weight and what not. She checked his teeth, and mouth, including his cut on his mouth, and said that his teeth were good, and that the cut was healing amazingly. She took the scab off his lip too. She just said to keep doing what i'm doing, and that there's no need for medications or anything because he's totally healthy. i'm so so so happpy. (:
