thank you :) ha no! He is very much his own bird, very occasionally he will let us hold him. But he is very sweet and he made friends with the wild birds at the holiday house and now sings their songs when he is going to sleep.

how lovely! but how do you put him back to his cage? Anyway, I still struggle in putting my Calipso back to the cage when it is time to go to sleep... she is smart: she waits for me under the table, then she runs away and waits for me at the corner of the kitchen, then again under the table, then I start cursing...
I try to picture you with your little bird!:)) but maybe he is more well-mannered than my piggie!:)

Well at home he sometimes flaps around the place squawking so sometimes it takes forever to get him back in the cage, but sometimes he lets you pick him up while hes half asleep, and then about half the time he will just go in his cage when you ask him to. He usually flaps around when daddy is in the room because he doesnt really like daddy.
But when we were at the holiday cottage, it had a conservatory which he loved, he was the happiest I have ever seen him in that cottage actually, so when it was bed time he would just go in bang on 7pm, no asking, no squawking. I think its just getting the set up right, I am not sure about all birds but Bikbok is reeeeeeeeally particular about how the room is, if even a chair is slightly the wrong angle it bugs him enough that he cant settle right. Like he loves the little indoor fountain, he likes dipping grass into it and beaking the grass.
Archie is never a problem, just corner him and grab him, or chase him if you dont want to pick him up, back into his cage.

Sorry @Wigwig just realised I got Archie's name wrong, must have been because I was dreaming of Cornwall! Sorry Archie.

No worries, I knew what you meant :P

incredible! I had never imagined anything like that with a bird! :luv::luv::luv:

Bikbok sounds amazing. Love the name. Archie looks so relaxed. Sounds like they had a great time in Cornwall.

Aww, how lovely. Bikbok is such a character. My parakeet and budgies were free roaming when we were at home, too. They used to put themselves to bed at night but it could be a struggle if they were out in the day and I needed to go out and wanted them safely in their cages. Little pickles had all sorts of perching and roosting points which I had to remove and then try to lure them back into their cages with goodies.
How lovely to find a holiday home where you could take Archie and Bikbok with you.

Our Bird used to sit on our sofa between & used to get a real strop if we moved together. Bedtime up on the curtain rail, with that come & get me look.
Glad you had a great time on holiday like many people have said, Cornwall is a beautiful place.
