Just wondering how coronavirus has effected the mental health of others if it has at all. For me I’m finding myself more anxious and depression creeping in from all the chaos. The more that happens and the worse it gets I find myself in a bad way. It sure does send my anxiety into a spiral :(

For me it's much more the lock down, and extended Leicester lockdown, that affected my mental health rather than the virus itself

Fortunately, I don't suffer from Mental Health problems although my lovely late Mum did and my brother does. My brother is not sleeping well atm and it could be anxiety related.

I think for many people, this whole situation has had a very negative impact on their mental health. :(
Personally, I was already being treated for mental health conditions prior to March, and sadly my contamination OCD was made much worse by the fear of bringing home the virus to vulnerable older parents. It was as though all the things that the mental health services had been working with me to address - e.g. encouraging me not to wash hands so frequently or sanitise items, stating as fact that other people were not a contamination risk to myself - suddenly totally contradicted official advice. My psychologist wryly commented that COVID was not at all good for my OCD!
Now awaiting inpatient treatment due to deterioration over recent months, but the specialist OCD unit I was referred to has closed until at least early next year, possibly longer (COVID strikes again) ... in a nutshell, the personal impact has been unimaginable sadly. :(

My community first responder group is having a virtual meeting next week on altered mental states brought on by external influences.
