The briefings always depress me and increase my anxiety so I try not to watch them all

Same with me a bit. I'm just waiting until the 25th May. That's when businesses with under 50 staff will go back if it's time to let that happen. Doubt it will thoughThe briefings always depress me![]()

They have to gradually. I know I definitely don't want to be working again and having to food shop like we are now, whilst working.I hope so as I want things to get back to normal now. Well, as normal as they can be

I've stopped watching the briefings now. They just never directly answer anything. I wait for YouTube and then skip to the bits i want, when they answer them

Shopping is so stressful isn’t itI watch the first 5 minutes, see the breaking news headline, who's at the briefing & turn it off. They may as well walk round in circles instead of answering qurstions
I think I'm keeping my anxiety under control, until I go shopping then it's through the roof. I'm scared of having to go back to work, even though there is no sign of that yet. I just want to be able to go see my nephew & my friends.

I ventured to the local supermarket yesterday, first time in 5 weeks. Only because it is opposite the post office & had a bill to pay so was there anyway. An old lady barged past me to get into the shop, she actually touched me to get in even though they have a one out, one in policy in place so I was waiting. There are arrows/feet on the floor in 2m spaces & it is one way system... I was the only one following this! I won't be bothering again, going to stick to local shops where I feel safer.
Same here. I'm doing 2 weeks worth of shopping on my own each time. I hate it with a passion. Don't know if il bring the virus home and then we both snuff it days later.Food shopping is a major stress factor for me
Yea, seems to be people that still think its nothing to worry about. I have to admit at first on this thread I thought it was just silly little virus. But now it's badWe had the same problem in Tesco on Monday and people not sticking to social distancingBetter to stick to local shops if you can
Can you get someone to do.your shopping for you? I have asked my cleaner to do it for me, as she can't do any cleaning and I have found someone through a community volunteer group who does bits as well and is a back up if my cleaner becomes ill. I have a pre-existing condition (asthma) but I'm not shielding or anything like that. My asthma can get very scary even if I have a simple cold, so I'm being careful.Food shopping is a major stress factor for me
I live in Belgium and they should start easing the lockdown measures around May 4th and the part that really scares me is that so many people seem to think that the virus was never anything to worry about. Even once the measures are eased, there's talk of mandatory face masks in the streets, public transports and all public places, but who's really going to comply if they don't care?We had the same problem in Tesco on Monday and people not sticking to social distancingBetter to stick to local shops if you can

if you find shopping really difficult for physical or psychological reasons that means you are vulnerable. I'm sure there would be volunteers who could.he!p. The only problem is that you give up some control and that can add to anxiety....I speak from experience...but it could reduce the stress of shopping.

My colleagues seem to think that by May 5th, we'll be back at the office drinking tea together, (I wonder if they read the same newspapers I do, because that doesn't seem likely, but whatever), there are people spitting at the volunteers who clean the shopping carts in grocery stores for crying out loud, and people who say they don't care about dying and get offended when you refuse to kiss them hello
It's like they think the government imposed social distancing measures just to annoy them and to prevent them to lead their life as they want. Do they even still realize that we live in a society and that like it or not, their actions impact others?
(Sorry, just needed to vent for a bit. The more they talk about the fact that we're going to live with the virus for months, the more stressed I get. I live with my mother, who has several health issues that put her at risk should she catch the virus so obviously, I'm scared of going back to work and bringing the virus back home. And it doesn't help that my colleagues just seem overjoyed at the idea that this "might all be over soon" while I sit here worrying about the food supplies in the country and in Europe, the situation in Italy and Spain and the fact that authorities tell us that yes, once people start going out more, there'll be more contaminations again.)
I'll got pet the piggies to calm down
Facebook has really brought out the worse in people over this crisis... EVERYONE is an expert - yet the things they post are not actually FACTS! It really does my head so have just deleted people or snoozed them for 30 days so I can't see their twaddle! It was this persons comments about it that got me. I've now blocked her as she is one of these "experts" on everything she knows nothing about. It will definitely be better for me not to see what she is spouting. I saw the over 70s thing too, trying to imagine my Grandad not leaving the house for a year... I can visualise his response right now! It's been 6 weeks since seen my nephew, looking at least another 8 because mum is vulnerable so at home. He is only 17 months old & had just started walking when last saw him. It's a struggle for mum not seeing him, she says he will have forgotten her when we can see him again. She is stopping in for 12 weeks, knowing the virus will still be out there after that but hoping the worst will have passed, it may be ok to see family however briefly & that she might be able to actually leave the garden!
I should probably watch the daily briefings a bit more & find out things more "first hand" from them. I do like it when they show the graphs of infection rate/death rate so I can actually see it visually.
This is us. We doing our bit stopping in, shop once a week, talk to the neighbours from door step, nobody in or out. I'm grateful to the NHS every day, at some point they have treated/saved many of my friends and family.
All the best piggy daddy... take care!Well it all suddenly got a bit close to home... piggy daddy has been asked to provide home care for an elderly couple, the wife has been in hospital with covid-19 for a couple of days as a precaution as she is elderly and has other health conditions and is coming home tomorrow, the husband has obviously been exposed in the past week so may be infectious but so far has no symptoms...
And can you believe his work office asked if he'd do the care call just wearing a paper mask while they sourced some proper PPE?!?! Erm... no he bloody won't!
So the office lady is driving to Manchester to get a proper visor and smock and change of uniform for him... all the other care staff refused to do the care calls for this couple at all...
I dont know how the NHS angels do this everyday, getting up close and personal with people they know are infected, then knowing they are responsible for not passing it on to the next person or bringing it home with them...
Please send supportive vibes for piggy daddy! He is not remotely qualified for this in his minimum wage/3 days training job for bathing old people and cooking their tea and helping them in and out of bed...!
I deleted Facebook permanently about 8 years ago. Glad I did, it's full of idiots trying to be the best person and most popular, shame really because there's things I wouldn't mind following on thereFacebook has really brought out the worse in people over this crisis... That's a great way of explaining the trials and objectives of lockdown.
My ex next door neighbour has died from coronavirus. He's an oap. Don't know what underlying issues he had. But it does hit you when you know people who are dying from it. My grandads just been rushed into hospital he's 90, has gone really cold, won't move and has gone yellow. Not looking good at all![]()
I'm not holding much hope to be honest. He's 90 almost, and has done the typical thing where they get sick, perk up and then go back down hill. Seen it in so many pets and dying old people in my family. I do hope hes ok. ThankyouThat’s awfuland I hope your grandad will be ok
ThanksSo sorry to hear that @SkyPipDotBernie . Thinking of you. Hugs
I know that feeling ..Thanks, just hope the phone don't ring later, cause I think I know what itl be about
