COVID-19 Coronavirus

Oh dear. Let’s hope they’re not too bad ☹
Itl spread like wild fire in there.

Well this has all just got real for me. I mean it was anyway. I'm at risk now. It could have been passed on from my mum. And I've recently touched stuff she's left outside the door for me essential products. She's handed stuff outside to my grandad for the old people's home

The nurses are now saying that his notes do not say he has pneumonia. So we are very confused if he does or doesn't. One nurse said yes the other today saying no. We just deinfitly know he has shortness of breath and was found with a very low temperature. To be fair they are rushed off their feet. Il just see what happens

Sorry to hear about your grandad @SkyPipDotBernie I hope he only has mild symptoms and can overcome it
Thanks, hopefully he will be ok, but now the old folks home won't take him back for 14 days.I'm presuming he will be in hospital anyway for this long. But don't know whether that 14 days counts from after he's recovered

Sending healing vibes to your grandfather. Like LadyKelly, I hope he has mild symptoms and recovers quickly. Keep us updated, he is in the best place.

☹ This period is so much tougher on some people, puts things in perspective. I know it’s not the same but could they do a video call or even just a phone call? I do hope she at least starts to eat 🤞🏾😟

Mum doesn't have any computer knowledge at all. She struggles with a landline phone, we do all call her regularly but she has given up now and doesn't want to talk it's a case of hello/goodbye if she answers at all, the carers have told my sister she is just staying in bed and not communicating with them. I don't mind her not wanting to live any more to be honest, she has no life, I don't like the idea of her going through her end of life alone though. When my Dad got to this stage I stayed with him for his last 6 weeks.

Quick update—Michigan has extended lockdown until May 15th.
The Michiganders have petitioned the governor Whitmer to step down from her position. Over 300,000 people have signed a petition for her removal from her governorship.

Things are a bit more crazier than I would like them to be.

So sorry to hear that your Grandad has tested positive.
My son in laws Grandmother (86) was in a very similar situation 3weeks ago.
Collapsed with pneumonia and barely eating, also tested positive.
She is still in hospital and very weak, but recovering.
So don't lose hope.
Sending healing hugs.xx

@SkyPipDotBernie & @piggieminder thoughts with you both.

We have at least 5 houses on my street that are in/out ALL the time, for no obvious reason. Then there is the neighbour who has visitors. Grandkids & random relatives she's had in this weekend, different people every day & some over night too. If every street has houses like this things are never going to get any better. I know the lockdown isn't going to make the virus magically disappear but it will help kill it/slow the spread... hopefully.

I'm missing my favourite people really bad right now & feel a bit like yes, I'm doing my little contribution by staying at home but my survival still depends on others doing their bit too. Think I need putting in a bag & shaking up.

He's still alright today. Probably isn't a severe case of corona
Good to hear and I am also thinking he doesn't have a severe underlying health condition. I heard people with underlying health conditions are more likely to have a severe case of COVID19.

We heard this on the news here.
I don’t understand the attitude that wants to reject all safety precautions and responsibility for each other.
Hope you stay safe and well

Well he has stage 3 to 4 heart failure, so really bad underlying health issue, but still seems to be fighting this virus well 👍

I think there's different strengths of it around. No evidence to back this up but that's what I think

@piggieminder @SkyPipDotBernie

I am so sorry for both of you and am keeping my fingers firmly crossed!

There are unfortunately a lot of very selfish and shortsighted people out there (unless they suffer themselves) and quite a few very desperate people around who have lost their livelihoods. There is not much in the way of social and medical safety net in the US, and millions have been made redundant. :(

It is hard to take when you are deeply worried about somebody (including yourself) or have already lost somebody.

Now the news I am getting is when businesses are beginning to open up, they are not protected from the lawyers who are ready to sue them for every penny they have made.
For example, if a client gets sick at a local restaurant or at a dentist office for instance, lawyers will be ready to sue and take everything they have.

Like I said before, things are more crazier than I would like.
