Hi Guys,

This may seem like a weird (and slightly anal/OCD) question but when building a C&C cage, what thickness is the coroplast/corotherm/correx that you use?

Also, what are your recommendations with regards to thickness?

Cheers :red

I didn't know they came in different sizes, mine is about 0.5cm thick.

2mm correx is the easiest and cheapest to get hold of. I get mine from Travis Perkins- it's 8ft x 4ft and about £8 per sheet. It's quite thin but works perfectly well but it is not as rigid as thicker versions. I've had mine in the cage for well over a year now and it is still fine.

If I re-did my cage and had the money available I would probably choose 4mm correx so that I could get a neater finish and it would be more rigid for tucking the fleece in.

Would it be possible to use it double thickness, ie 2 sheets do you think? :)

Yes, I have used double thickness in some areas because my floor is uneven. It was a bit fiddly to make the box for the main cage double thickness but that is mainly because I don't have a big enough floor space to lay it flat (pigs take up most of the space here).

That's interesting as I have just got my C & C grids for future use, & have been looking at coroplast & it was confusing me lol :)) Just need some piggles now :)
