I'm going to be making a double teir c&c cage (not connected by ramps) top half will be for 2 piggies and bottom for 1 piggy (totally separate just on top of eachother). It will be a 2x5 cage. I think i will need around 207.5cm x 97.5cm of correx. The only place i can find correx is ebay at 122cm x 81.3cm. This comes with 5 sheet though. Is it possible to connect two sheets 2gether? Wouldnt the piggys wee go through the join? I'm not sure what i could do.
Any ideas?

(also does anyone know for the bottom half how to leave abit to open for a door? as the top level will be same size as the bottom therefore leaiving no room for an open top)

have you contcted any sign makers in your area.. I did this and got a 8ft x 4ft sheet so dont need to connect together and can cut to size perfectly?

If not, i am sure you can connect them with gaffer tape, if double overlap the correx at the end by a couple of inches where you want to connect it so there is not a gap for the correx to bend (does this make any sense?!?)

you can get different colour gaffer tape from b&Q i got white to match correx so it looks nicer! (gaffer tape is very strong and waterproof. and you would line with newspaper etc so wee shouldnt go through it!

Would you use the gaffer tape for the bottom of the correx or the top also ? is it toxic to guinea pig at all? i see what you mean with the overlaping. Ill have to ask around like u said would make it easier if they fit. thanks :)

yes i would wrap the join with correx, all the way around, top to bottom, maybe a couple of times neatly to make it a secure join. but remember to overlap to give thay extra strength!

i just went on yellow pages website and typed in sign makers, sign designers etc, and rang around. i dont think you are local to me?

I got 8 ft x 4 ft sheets as well from Travis Perkins builders merchants, they have stores nationwide. They cost £6 er sheet. They only come in black though and I used black gaffer tape to stick the corners into the box shape. Then I folded another cut off piece of correx and taped it in the corners so there is a double layer. Never had a problem of leaking wee!

i got quoted a lot more than 6, mine was £18 a sheet, i rang up both travis perkins in neighbouring towns and they quoted the same amount. you must have been lucky! i am not! i got mine for £12 so cant complain too much.

That strange as I got some more 2 weeks ago, it had gone up from £5.20 to £6...I wonder if it is a different one? Mine is the plain black "cordek". Builders use it as floor protection when building works are taking place so cant see them paying £18 per sheet for that!
