Cosy Bed Help

Hi,

I have two of these cosy fleece beds, only the opening doesn’t stay open, it is always flat, then the piggies lay on top of it instead of inside and one of them has started burrowing her way under the fleece liner on the floor of the cage. Is there a way I can make these beds stay open? I’ve seen some online that are fixed open but I don’t want to have to buy new ones if I can do something to these ones I have. I hope that makes sense?

Some people sew a strip of curved plastic (like a strip off the side of a bottle for example) on one side between the layers of the overlapped part.

Ahh brill thanks, I did think of plastic but didn’t want to do it before I asked as I didn’t want to put the piggies at any harm

I made some fleece tunnels and used plastic boning inside the two layers. You can buy it on ebay by the metre.

I don't know if this is easy or not, but, what if you like sewed a headband inside?

Mine are like that and first of all mine sat on the top and they still do occasionally then I opened it up a bit to show them they could go inside it took them a while but they have the hang of it now!

cut a 3" round wide strip from a 4 or6 pint milk carton,fold it down to 1 1/2" to make stiff ,fold the front of the sack around it and tack it in place.

@Betsy Ours both know they can go inside them but recently sit on top, which is why I wanted to make the opening stay open so it’s easy for them
