Cotton pods.....?

Hi all

I was just browsing 'equine canine feline' website an came across these cotton pods:

Has anyone ever seen/used anything like them?

I know guinea pigs aren't really nest-makers as such, so the bedding element wouldn't really apply, but I wondered if they'd be useful as a kind of 'boredom breaker' for piggies.

Any thoughts?

Well, I don't know for certain but I'd say there are better things you can get for your money Things like chewable tunnels, wooden roll balls etc

I would say if they were to injest the cotton it could do some serious harm to their gut and get tangled around organs and cut off oxygen or blood supplies, so i am not really sure..... though to be honest i dont know what the cotton itself it actually like?

Hi Liane, I know what you mean! No, I wasn't planning on buying any, I was just curious about them, never seen anything like them before.

I reckon if I buy any more chewy toys, hideys and tunnels, I won't be able to fit the piggies into their cages! LOL!

Hi Toffeewoffee, yeah, that was my immediate thought.....a bit like how the commercial fluffy/shredded fabric bedding isn't recommended for GPs.

Llike I said in my reply to Liane, I'm not planning on buying any, I was just curious....despite spending the better part of most of my weekends in pet shops, I've never seen anything like that before.
