Coughing/Acting like having to throw up?

The first thing is when I pick Penny up to clip her nails she coughs typically at least once with the way I hold her. Tonight she coughed maybe 3 times so I didn't clip her nails.
Second thing is when I put her back in the cage tonight, she began heaving like she had to throw up. It only lasted about 5 seconds but I was so confused what that was about. I'm assuming the coughing and heaving are connected?
I'm going to make an appointment with the vet for a checkup and then I will ask her about these things, but I'm curious to know if anyone knows what these things mean?
Also, this isn't Penny but this is how I hold her to clip her nails.

@emlen23 She could have something stuck in her mouth that she's trying to dislodge.

One of my boys has digestive issues and if I feed him food that doesn't agree, like tomato, he can start to heave.

Does she have tummy issues? Any foods that don't agree with her?

She loves all types of food, so not that I’m aware of
