Coughing Guinea Pig

Hi guys, New Guinea pig owner and just wanted some advice!

One of my guinea pigs has been coughing tonight about 5 times in the last 15-20 minutes and it sounds like a new born baby coughing and just worried me a bit.

Is this normal?

Would be worth going to a cavvy savvy vet and might have an issue with her chest.
Will tag two people who might have a better idea.

The coughing is not normal. It can just be something that has gone down the wrong way, but if it persists or gets worse, please see a vet; a local vet will do.

I agree she needs a vet if it continues, coughing can be food gone down the wrong way but can also be a sign of heart issues.

It sounded very much like just the result of some greedy eating. I get it occasionally with piggies of mine.

If coughing persists over a length of time or is recurrent (like coughing after most meals), then it has to be taken seriously and a check of lungs and heart needs to be done.
