Hey!
One of my little piggies, Bear, has been coughing a little... not too often, only a few times, but I'm curious if he's okay. I got him from a place that didn't really care for the piggies, and I want to make sure he's not sick. Is it normal for them to cough every so often?
Thanks a lot!

Is the coughing usually happening when he is eating or shortly after? In that case, he is simply a greedy piggy that eats too fast. Not uncommon in piggies from less than pristine backgrounds!

If not, you might like to consider having him given an overall vet check.

My piggy was doing this a week or so a go, is your pig in with another one? She was being bullied and scoffing her food too quick so it wasn't getting stolen from her. She's stopped now the cage is seperate x

I would only recommend this if there is a real case of bullying going on and a separation is not upsetting, but a relief.

I prefer to feed mine with a bowl each in small portions 2-3 times a day, so there is no direct competition. Do this for both pellets and veg. Around 80% of the daily food intake should be unlimited hay, so your piggies are not going hungry in between.

They're fine now they were fighting and I've just started a new job so I couldn't be in to watch them 24/7. I just seperated the cage with grids they still have floor time and cuddles together tho :) just not unsupervised x
