I am three weeks and four days into guinea pig slaveship...though it has been painstakingly slow, it IS getting better! There is hope! My piggies still run, they still get scared and shy, but it is changing. For those of you who are brand new to piggies and feeling discouraged - don't! It does take time, it takes patience just like everyone here says but it is so worth it!

I love my little babies and can't wait to see how much more they open up with their quirky personalities! 0108161618.webp

 Awwww gorgeous piggies

Yeah it does take time doesn't it. You seem to be doing well. It took us ages to gain the trust of our first piggies...

What are your little ones names and who is who?

They are gorgeous! It is a matter of patience and persistence to bring them round. Sadly, far too many people expect instant animated cuddly toys. :(

Thank you! I know it's going to take more time, but each little breakthrough makes me sooooo happy. My piggies wheek for food now and don't anxiety purr when I get home anymore!

The little girl with a lot more dark brown marking and lower in the picture is Lilo, the one sporting more white fluffs is Ipo. I chose Hawaiian names in the hope of passing on some of the laid back nature of the islands

I feel badly for poor piggies that are expected to drop their natural instincts to be someone's plaything. Its impossible! It may be inadvertently, but the poorly piggies are punished for being themselves...whether it's constantly living in fear or being passed around from home to home :(
