My dental piggy was diagnosed with his maciclussion on monday and has been treated and is doing fine his right eye was runny and pulsating so I was given special eye drops and baytril for it.. but I have read up that dental piggys csn develop abcesses which csn travel to the eyes and be very serious and dangerous:/ I have spent £100 on his treatments already in the last 5 days and I am now worried that this is going to cause another problem. I might just be being paranoid after the storys ive read.. can anyone give me advice on if it is a abcess will the eye drops and baytril cure it? Or could it simply just bean infection? I dont no *** to do as my vet looked at it and sed the drops should heal it.. I really need advice of someone experienced

My worry is if it is an abscess and it isn't removed it can easily come back which means antibiotics again and again which isn't fair on piggy or your bank balance. I don't know anything about pulsating eyes, hopefully someone else will x

If you are concerned, you need to see/speak to your vet - no one can diagnose or tell you what's going on without seeing the animal (and a vet degree would also be helpful ;))

Hello Jodie, sorry to hear your pig isn't well. If you are concerned then as Amanda says you really need to see your vet.

Usually Debbie aka furry friends is the first person to talk to about any dental issues but unfortunately she will not be able to help at the moment because of other reasons. I'm sure she will get in touch when she is able to.

Hope your piggie is okay.

Thanks for the advice guys:)
I have been useing the eye drops from the vets and have also been wiping the crust around his eye with warm salty water. And I woke up this morning and his eye looks much better :)! I dont think it is a abcess it just looks like a little infection he might have got because of the pain he was under before his surgert. Which is good news and should completely vanish in a few more days :)
