Update: I have called and arranged for him to be seen to check for skin mites because of his constant biting, thanks everyone!

Haha I should have been more clear!
I'm not sure if its a lump I'm feeling but its inflamed and he seems to be scratching/biting it a lot.

Hi everyone!
I am new to the forum and I'm a new owner, I adopted 12 week old Noddy last week and he's settling in well :)
I had him on my lap this morning and I came across this and I have no idea what it is. As I've been searching through different threads I've seen mammary tumours and I was wondering if anyone had any advice and could tell me what this is? It is only on one side of his body, in the crease of his leg.
Sorry if it's nothing, I'm just worried!

This is simply a nipple; all guinea pigs have two of them. A mammary tumour is a growing lump underneath the nipple inside the body. The other nipple should still be normal if that is the case.

You may find this thread here helpful, as it tells new owners what is normal and what not in a guinea pig:
Guinea pig body quirks

So the inflammation/constant biting is nothing to worry about?

It's hard to see inflammation and constant biting from a picture. I belive we thought you where confused about his nipple which is perfectly normal. If he has inflammation and is biting a lot I would recommend a vet visit as he could have mites or another skin issue.

Yeah i should have been more clear haha my fault.
Thanks very much :)

I can't see any inflammation on the picture you have provided, but if there are changes or obvious differences between the two nipples (apart from colouration; guinea pigs can have differently coloured nipples, and his doesn't look out of place with his fur colour), then please see a vet.

Thanks, I was a bit worried after reading into it too much! Hes going for a health check next week :) I was more worried because I was getting advice from more experienced people and I didn't know what to look for. Relieved :)
