Hi so when I had my pigs in a run I made out of a massive cardboard box on Thursday, one of my pigs pepper I noticed did a pee that looked quite red, I panicked but my mum said it was just because of the colour of the cardboard, and sure enough when it dried it looked normal colour, no signs of blood. So I’ve just come home to find that one of them has peed in there food bowl(they like to do that. :/) and that was a normal yellowish orange colour. But one of the knaw sticks has a red spot on it, could this be blood or just a staining of the wood. My mum refuses to take pepper to the vet for something as small as this, as we’ve taken them many, many times when it turned out to be nothing, as I tend to panic a bit as I have an anxiety disorder, unfortunately:/. Any advice? :(

Hi! Your picture is too vague, but please note that blood in pee does not dry evenly; it dries as red spots in an orange/ rusty puddle or as a red ring around an orange/rusty puddle.
Please also note that clear pee can score very high on blood and protein whereas even deep red coloured pee will not necessarily contain blood. I have been there.

Cardboard with red ink can stain into pee.
