When I was cleaning Romeo's cage yesterday I noticed his eye looked a little weird and now this morning it looks like this.
I do have a vet our piggies see but she literally just went on maternity leave for 6 weeks and there isn't another one in a 35 mile radius of where we live. I absolutely will take him in to be seen by our regular vet when she gets back into the office if this is pea eye but if it looks like something else I will definitely be taking him to the closest vet who will see exotics.
The 1st pic is what it looked like yesterday and the 2nd was just taken

The more I look at him the more uneasy I get, I will be taking him to the vet, the soonest appt they will give me.

Other possibility is an infection of the tear gland.

Please have him seen in case it is an infection. Unfortunately, these things always happen at an inappropriate time. :(

Thank you for your replies. we have a 2:30pm appt, I live in the states and it's almost noon so just another couple hours and hopefully we will have answers.

I hope that you got an answer at the vets. That eye looked quite sore. Hugs to you and Romeo.

Hope all was ok at the vets. It has definitely come on too quickly to be pea eye.
