Courgette?!

Yep it's a veg we grow a lot if at work and feed it to the chickens, rabbits and guineas. I feed it to my own guinea pigs as well. I have found that they much prefer corgettes that are little. They will eat both the skin and the flesh of it :)

Never tried courgettes but mine like 'baby' cucumbers over regular ones. But it's actually handy as I can give a whole 'baby' one rather than chopping a regular one and have the cut end dry up!
 
I have tried them on courgette but they just nibbled the skin off and left the flesh. I'm not sure how the skin tastes any different to the flesh but the piggies thought so.
 
Mine don't like it either.. The only vegetable fudge won't eat.. She's not a fussy girl!
 
Ours are definitely not keen on courgette but if they will eat any of it, it's the end part they like, with more skin. Ours aren't fussy but courgette is the only thing that has been refused......oh and basil.
 
I gave up buying courgettes after none of my last 4 piggies would touch it, and they weren't all that fussy.

Mind you, the 4 I have now eat whatever is in front of them, so maybe they would like the Marmite veggie, who knows?

I have to confess, i really am on the hate side of courgettes.
I love Marmite though! :)
 
I love Marmite. And courgettes. Only veg I won't eat is parsnip - creation of the devil - pollutes everything it touches :ban:

Yes, they can eat courgette, but I know of very few piggies who will eat them!

I detest parsnip, and I have tried it raw, boiled, fried, baked, mashed with other veg, in stews, and as crisps.

I still don't like them!
 
i dont like parsnips,my piggies ate home grown courgette,but will not touch bought courgettes from the shops.some will eat parsnips,some will not !:roll:
 
My piggies eat parsnip, they didnt at first but will now. They still refusing courgette though. I'm just happy they arnt allowed mushrooms because that is one food that will NEVER be welcome in this house, I gag big time with them and cant even smell them cooking. Parsnip (only roasted) and courgette I love though.
 
Courgette is a big firm no no here. They'll pee on it, poop on it, walk on it, drag it around the cage... everything but eat it!
 
Oh, I hadn't seen this thread before I gave my new piggies some courgette last night as part of their veggie mix. In any case a courgette slice was the first bit the girl grabbed and ran off with, and none was left this morning! So while most seem to hate it, some weirdoes seem to love it.
