Now I'm scared ! Because i get my covid 19 vac toworrow at 12.30pm but on the news there was a man die two weeks after he had covid 19 vac from a blood clot ! And now I'm worried can't talk to a dr until 18th of may it will be to late then my counsellor not much better she says talk to my dr but this is why I'm turning to my Guinea pig forum, sorry for writing this i know it's a Guinea pig forum but worried ! Because I still feel ill with this horrible white taste tongue for over a year now and then there's my haemoglobin levels got high now the wrong way and worried about side effects of this covid 19 vac toworrow ! ,thanks in advance.

Do you know which one you're getting? The risk of blood clots only relates to the AstraZeneca jab.

Even then, it's literally a one in a million chance or something. I had the AstraZeneca on 12th March and I'm fine xx

I had the Astra Zeneca jab on 27 March and I'm OK and my OH had his the week before and he's OK. You need to put it in perspective Jane. More than 20 million people have had the AZ jab and as of 2 days ago, 79 people developed blood clots and 19 of those died. So the risk is VERY low that you will develop a blood clot if you have the AZ jab.

I was watching the news last night and it's something like 1:250,000 chance, no more than you could get on a long haul flight.
Ask which vaccine it is when you arrive, but I know a few people that have had it recently and they are all well.
I appreciate people worry about these things but I would rather have the vaccine and have some protection than keep worrying about the alternative.

I have an anxiety disorder and I know it can be overwhelming.

As I say, I had the AstraZeneca along with thousands of other people in my area and no blood clots have happened here.

As Betsy says, it's a tiny risk compared with the risk of getting COVID which could make you very poorly.

The problem with news stories is that they don't give the full picture even when they appear to. They are about selling newspapers so they draw out the extremes to make dramatic stories - I avoid them.

I had the AstraZenca vaccine and I’m not concerned about having it a 2nd time. Try not to worry Jayne. Incidence of blood clots are very rare. Do discuss your concerns when you go for the vaccine so the staff can reassure you. Be brave. You will be fine

Actually there were blood clots cases in other vaccines as well but AZ was the only one reported all the time because of the EU countries banning it.

Vaccines and Rare Clotting Disorders: What's the Link?

Speak to your doctor or nurse @jayne regarding your concerns. They would be more equipped to advice you. I had my 1st dose of AZ on Tuesday. I had a slight headache and some chills for 2 days and still have a sore arm. But it's nothing that stopped me from doing anything regular in the house.

I'm not really concern about the blood clots. I take contraceptive pills and on flights at least 2x a year (well 4 flights back & forth) for holidays overseas, which also at risk of blood clots.

Both me and my husband have had the Astra Zeneca vaccine and we are fine. You are very much more likely to get blood clots if you don’t get vaccinated and catch Covid. Try not to worry, vaccines are very very safe and the likelihood of any serious side effects are far far less than catching Covid x

Try not to worry Jayne, my Nan and Mum have both had it a few months ago and have both been fine!

The risk is very low... put it this way your 100 times more likely to get a blood clot from taking the contraceptive pill and think about how many women take that! ❤️

I agree with all the previous posters Jayne . There are risks associated with everything we do and the risks associated with the vaccine are very low .

when I had the vaccine , the nurse was willing to discuss everything with me in detail.

My second AstraZeneca jab is tomorrow and I've not even considered putting it off. I've got some weird medical issues (who else do you know with a titanium allergy? And what's made of titanium? Surgical staples and certain bone implants, that's what), but it's such a small chance the likelihood of me being the one with issues is beyond negligible.

Gimme gimme gimme.

Go for it.
This is a very rare blood clot and I know many people who have had the AZ jab, including my husband, and haven’t heard of a single case of a blood clot.

I expect that no one any of us know will ever meet someone that has had a clot. The risk is tiny. There is an inherent risk in everything we do. The journey to the vaccination centre carries risk. You need to consider your own tolerance for this risk which is why some people are locked in their homes because the perceived risk of going out is too high, whilst most of us bumble along without really thinking about it. Your risk of developing a clot if you contracted covid is much much higher and so this is the risk assessment I would make if I were having to choose. I’ve had my vaccine so I don’t have to.

Done it ! It was horrible and she wasn't nice stab my arm
It remind me of when i was on the farm watching the cows have there jabs that's now mad it was
Never got a sticker like my mum did but my mum had a different vac to my
Arm hurting
Well done you! Your arm will ease within a day or so x

Sorry you had a rough time. I didnt even realize i got jabbed. The nurse was talking to me and suddenly said "all done"
