I'm a bit worried as my guinea pig's feet have gone red, somewhat cracker and he's fussy about them being touched. He has woodchip bedding, which is kept fairly clean. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Should I take him to the vet?

Thank you

if your Boys are reluctant about having their feet touched, I would see a vet.

Wood chippings can cause irritations. You might want to research alternatives in our housing section.

Sounds like pododermatitis. Wood shavings can cause irritation as Wiebke has mentioned so it might be worth changing this. But I would suggest a visit to the vets too.
