Adult Guinea Pig
He weighs 1000g.. he used to weigh a lot more than that, in fact at his last weigh in (just before xmas) he weighed 1.2 kg.. so I reckon he's lost 400g maybe?
None of my guineas fall into the weigh in category in Guinea pig lynx, they all weigh more than that and are other wise healthy.. if 900-1200g is fine for a male, then Crackers is positively anorexic at 1000g:{? when he should have a good covering of fat?.....
His teeth are fine, his eyes are bright, he's got a really good appetite, everything just points that it's his metabolism? I watch him pop corn when he's out, so he's not 'ill' as such..
He doesn't crouch when in cage looking unhappy.. he's first to the cage door at feeding time and I watch him eat, he scoffs the lot, and isn't a messy eater..
I don't think my local vet will be able to help me with this one, so does anyone know of a good savvy vet in Derbyshire/Cheshire?
Please can someone point out to me exactly how much a 3 and a half year old Guinea pig should weigh? I'm really confused by the weights being under 700g on some sites?
