Yesterday a lifted one of my piggies up to my ear, and listened to her stomach/chest area. I heard what sounded like crackling noises, light but definitely there. I couldn't hear them if I didn't press my head to her though. Today, I listened again, and they were the same, except for the fact that there was one really strong one that I felt in her, and I could hear one outside of her this time too. She's sneezing, but not sneezing in rows. She sneezed a lot when I picked her up in the position I put her in for lung listening. My other piggie was sneezing a bit too, less though. She sneezed a lot a good amount at the same time (I think 3 sneezes in a row, still less than the other piggie) as well when I held her in the position. I don't believe I hear any crackling in my other piggie though, although her breathing sounded quite strong on the inside (she was kinda spooked by being picked up like that though). We have an appointment at a rescue where they listen to their lungs like I do in a few days, but I'm pretty scared that this might be what I pray it isn't, a URI. The hay we have right now is definitely not a dusty batch this time, and other than the crackling in one piggie and a bit more sneezing than usual in both, there aren't any other symptoms. I do have severe pet anxiety w my babies, so I reallly thank everyone especially @Wiebke who always answers. I'm not embarrassed for caring about my babies though, although I am quite worried about this. Thoughts? URI, allergies, or dust? Please reply soon

It is difficult to tell without actually seeing your piggies.
Are they eating ok, and have they lost any weight?

If you are concerned about their health then it might be a good idea to switch to daily weighing.
You only need to weigh them once a day, and try and do it at roughly the same time each day.

If they seem otherwise ok, then maybe just call and ask if the rescue can see you sooner if this will put your mind at rest?
Of course if they seem to go downhill or stop eating them you will need to take them to a vet.

Hi!

Please take a deep breath! If your piggies really had a URI, it would have long progressed to the more serious stages by now. Respiratory infections to do not hover around polity; they get bad pretty quickly, either within hours or a day or two of the first symptom pf which sneezing is NOT the most typical. ;)

When you get pollen or dust in your own nose, you also have a sneezing fit and a somewhat stuffy nose immediately afterwards. That is what you are hearing - nothing more! ;)

If your anxiety is so bad that you have started to obsess, please have them checked over sooner.
