Hi, I've always struggled with nail cutting. The back ones are not too bad but the fronts have normally involved my OH holding them against him with a pair of thick builders gloves to protect from piggy teeth and me struggling to cut while they keep pulling their paws away. However I have discovered a new way. When they are standing up on their hind legs with their front paws on the tray of the cage wheeking for their veggies I get the clippers and just snip as their little toes are poking through the cage. They dont even notice I've done it!. I get two or three nails done at a time like this so in a couple of days they all get done. If you need to keep them there longer you just feed them veg through the cage bars.

Well done I've done it that way before too but now I just hold then and do it, mine don't like it but they have never tried to bite so never a need for gloves

That's a great idea, I will try it! Actually, it's usually harder for me to clip the back nails than the front...

I actually did this too! I just trimmed nails for the first time and was sweating bullets! I was surprised how easy it went-I guess I am used to trimming cat and dog claws, now THAT is difficult!
