iv just had hold of craig for a cuddle and in the 5 minutes i had him he sneezed about 6 times and craig NEVER sneezes. he sounded just like david does. iv put some vicks on the end of his nose, but I'm wondering should i give him some sudafed in the morning. Only problem is iv only got one syringe and david has been using it so i dont wanna transfer any germs...

anyone got any thoughts on it. I know it could be coincidence but i havent heard craig sneeze since i got him. i swear they av both caught a cold off me and elliot. i dont really wanna av to take craig vets its costing me a fortune.

Don't panic! Do you wear a strong perfume or have strong fabric conditioner? Something that could have set them off?

Craig might have just got something up his nose. :)

hiya flips hhaha your getting to know that I'm a panic person :))

iv had a shower so not got any perfume on, i gave him a new fleece covering his back thats the only thing i can think of x

:)) First few weeks I had my girls I would get up and go and look at them intently if they sneezed. Now I just say bless you and carry on. I've been lucky with them healthwise though (touching every piece of wood in sight). rolleyes

its a nightmare isnt it. Theres defo sumat up with david tho and I'm worried craig guna catch it. so I'm sat watching there every move haha i bet they wish id leave them alone. bless them. being a piggy officer is a tough job, but someone gotta do it 8) haha xx

craigs eyes looking quite watery this morning which is not normal for craig. I'm wondering if that might be cus he had some vicks on his nose this morning. its like a doctors surgery in my house haha x

:( iv already been doing it as i was advised to.

there are so many conflicting opinions its difficult to know whats the right thing and wrong thing to do. i wouldnt do anything if i knew it would cause him any harm/distress.

Piggies do sneeze every now and then to clear their nostrils out. This is entirely normal. It is a loud, dry sneeze. A cold has repeated sneezes, snotty ones with a mist of germs emerging from the nose.

A friend of mine still fondly recalls Pumpkin (RIP) who had a cold, sneezed hugely into his chest and then proceeded to carefully wipe her face on him as though he was a hanky. He was enhanted - I was embarrassed!

Colds can easily transfer from piggy to piggy, just as in humans that live together. Try to listen to his breathing to see if there is wheeziness at all, that is also a sign of a cold. Listen to his side, just behind the front leg. If he wriggles then wrap a tea towel around his head and body to calm him down, moving it just where you need to listen.
