Crantock Poppy Field attracting locals for photoshoot

I'd be concerned about them eating the poppies as cute as that looks. I've just pulled a big poppy plant up by the grass as the petals were blowing into the runs. I'm not sure all if any bits of poppy are safe for piggies.

Cute piggies. But as above I’d be worried about them scuttling off. Or eating anything they shouldn’t or that has had some kind of treatment applied to it.

I agree, mine would probably make a run for it, but it’s nice to see GP’s in the news 😁
Sadly I think this can actually be a really damaging post for pets like guinea pigs (and rabbits, hamsters) etc.
Clueless owners see a picture like this and get the idea to head outdoors for a photoshoot with their own small furries.

All it takes is for both of them to fly off in opposite directions and one or both could easily be lost forever.
Or a loose dog to come over to investigate - it really doesn't bear thinking about.
It's irresponsible behaviour at best, and to promote it as 'cute' in the press just makes it seem like it's ok, without highlighting any of the dangers involved.
