Crazy Guinea Pig Mum Here

It seems like every garden in the whole entire country has dandelions growing in it, apart from mine.

Not one single dandelion or buttercup or even a daisy will grow. Its never been weed treated because the grass is for the guinea pigs and they are good lawn mowers.

Now I know how much guinea pigs love dandelions and I didnt want my 4 to be the only ones who never got to taste the yummy weed.

So what did I do? I picked a dead dandelion from my neighbours overgrown jungle of a garden (definitely no weed killer ever used in there so they are safe) and blew the seeds onto a wet patch of the guinea pig grass. I really hope they grow.

The lengths us pig mums go to! The pigs were sniffing around and looking at each other probably thinking that ive lost it at last!

I found myself tramping around my mum's garden the last time I went home looking for dandelions in the veggie patch! Brought a nice fat bag home for the ever-hungry furry mouths

I'm considering growing a trough of danelions lol. I have quite a few in my boarder at front which I never wanted to get rid of as I "keep" them for the pigs but I want to make my garden a bit "nicer" so thinking of digging then up and replanting them roots and all in a trough to hide in my back garden lol. I think neighbours may appreciate it lol!

I tried growing dandelions in pots last year but had no luck- why I don't know cos they grow anywhere (except my pots)

Luckily we live in a rural area so loads of dandelion areas to choose from, just have to make sure they are safe areas - so yes" I'm a dedicated mum who tramps miles, - just to get dandelions to make my boys smile" ( did you like how I managed to rhyme that )

Ha ha. We used to hate dandies (as they're known to the pigs) in our garden and allotment. When we moved to our new place and got the pigs, we found ourselves watering them! I'm glad we are not the only ones doing that.
