I know its a bit morbid but I hadn't really thought about comparing cremation options before and just trusted my vet. So Friday morning I went to work armed with the leaflet the emergency vet had given me and called several times. 2-3 times of no answer so I left a voicemail for this "family run, personalised cremation service". Late Friday afternoon I get a call from them asked where the guinea pig was and that I would have to pay £125 and can have either a scatter tube or a casket but it doesn't alter the price, on top of that I would need to collect from Nuneaton or pay more to have her brought back to a vets in Leicester.

I was taken aback by his abrupt attitude, I don't expect them to spend even 5 minutes chatting about my pet but some acknowledgement that this is a difficult time for me would be appreciated. I told him I would get back to him in order to get him off the phone and dropped into my old vets who arranged Bea's cremation. They gave me a leaflet and I called them this morning, they will collect from the emergency vets and drop the ashes back off at my old vets which is just down the road from me. This is in a scatter pouch for £37.50!

I am so shocked by the difference in price and to be honest wouldn't have checked if I hadn't seen the first company to be rude and abrupt. Just wondered whether anyone else had found anomalies in the sheer cost of these kinds of services?

Oh gosh - I can't understand why some people are in the job they are in.

I'm sorry you had to go through that experience at such a difficult time. Sounds like someone is in the wrong job. I've not had experience of pet cremations for years but just wanted to send you hugs.

Some people are so heartless! They should be train and show compassion when clients loose their pets! So sorry to hear about your bad experience . I'm sending you hugs and my thoughts are with you .

How horrid! Made me very cross to hear you had been treated so awfully under such sad circumstances. Big hugs, hope you are feeling a little bit better now.
