I have a few questions about critical care, and I would appreciate it if you could awnser them. Thanks!
1) what is the best way to decide how much a pig he needs each sitting? (By weight?)
2) how often do they need critical care? (every day? Every hour?)
3) should I buy it or make it myself? And if I should make it how should I make it?
4) when would I use critical care?

thank you so much for taking the time to read (and hopefully answer) my questions!

You use critical care when a piggy is ill and isn’t eating hay for themselves. When a piggy isn’t eating hay, they will lose weight. You then syringe feed enough to keep their weight stable - if a piggy being syringe fed continues to lose weight, then they aren’t being fed enough. In a very ill piggy with complete loss of appetite then you feed every couple of hours during the day and night - again, enough so their weight is maintained and any losses stop, but aiming for 60-90ml in a 24 hour period. They may only take a couple of ml per sitting, so the less they take per sitting the more often you will need to feed.
in an emergency and when critical care is not available, then you can use mushed up pellets.
i don’t keep critical care in stock (it has use by dates), but I do keep syringes. Should I need to syringe feed, then I would use mushed up pellets as a stop gap until the critical care arrive

@Piggies&buns has done a great job answering your specific questions.
Maybe if you were able to tell us a bit more about your piggies and your current situation we could also offer some support?

@Piggies&buns has answered your questions. Is there a specific reason for them, and if yes, what is the matter? We can support you better with specific care advice if we have the necessary background information. Without this, you will get our standard advice.

Here is our emergency care advice link, which bundles all the information you may need if things are going wrong quickly and you need to bridge the time to get them to the vets and until they start recovering; including syringe feeding support and the vital weight monitoring, which helps you to judge how often and how much you need to feed in order to stabilise the weight as much as possible.
. We have collected all necessary advice so you have everything together when it counts. You may want to bookmark the link: Emergency, Crisis and Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment
