Hi everyone,
As recently I have had quite a few sick piggies I would like to buy some critical care to keep in. Previously I was buying small bags from the vets but I feel it would be more cost effective to buy elsewhere.

Can anyone recommend specific types and where they purchase online?
Thanks guys :)

I mainly use the fine grind Oxbow critical care, sometimes I'll add in some Burgess duel care which comes in pellet form. Amazon, VetUK, Viovet and The Hay Experts usually stock it.

I've used Oxbow Critical Care and Burgess Dual Care. I ended up preferring Burgess Care because the pigs were used to Burgess pellets, it can be used in both dry and mush form and I found it became a better consistency (and seemed easier to make up). It was also a lot cheaper (total of about £9 for 10 days or so compared with £15 for 3 - 4 days of CC). I got things delivered from Amazon. What I would say is that if you need it to go in a syringe with a narrow tip, the Oxbow fine grind CC (in brown packet) goes in and comes out a bit more easily and I think I'm glad I learnt about delivering syringe feeding using it.

I use Oxbow which mine have seemed to to have liked.
My supply comes from the vet. I just have to keep an eye on the expiry dates

We use the Science Selective recovery plus, available from Amazon- I like that you can get 10 small sachets in a box so we can always have some in stock! And Terumo 1ml syringes. I always keep a supply of these things in my piggy medical drawer!

I used to buy Supreme Recovery Food/ Recovery Plus from the Hay Experts, in boxes of 10. It was cheaper than buying it from my vet. It's also cheaper than Critical Care, but the sachets are different sizes. My poorly pig preferred Recovery Food to Critical Care.

I use Supreme Science Recovery Plus for my piggies. I think I got it off ebay cos it was a bit cheaper than Amazon.

I used to get Supreme Science Recovery from vetuk as it was cheaper than anywhere else, but they have changed the way they charge postage so it's no longer such a bargain! Mine wouldn't eat the Oxbow and I couldn't stand the smell.
