Got home from work today and of course went to go see my piggies. I got them both out and noticed Crunchie has a tiny scab on her back?! It was so hard to examine her properly because she kept squirming (she's still a massive wuss!) But I only noticed the one and nothing on Elsa. Elsa has been rumble strutting towards Crunchie tonight (we knew as soon as we got them that Elsa was the dominant one) , is it possible they've just been in a bit of an argument for dominance or is it possible Crunchie has mites?! :S

IT won't hurt to treat them for mites if your worried but it sounds to me more like a small graze from a bite from a bit of squabbling. I would just keep an eye on it for now.

dito to above plus wouldet do any harm to concider fungle (are there any small tufts of hair coming out )

Booked my little girl in to see she the vets tomorrow.. Figure its best to be safe than sorry! Poor thing isn't particularly keen on being held by me yet so she's going to hate the vets! :'( but as my dad pointed out its better for her to be unhappy for a short time and then get better than be unhappy and in pain or uncomfortable for ages! Fingers crossed...

Hope all goes ok tomorrow.

Thank you! I found a few more scabs on her back tonight plus she was having a right good scratch. Sat happily for a little bit munching broccoli on my lap but when I got her out later on she absolutely hated being touched :( that's a symptom of mites right?! :S

could well be mite's but your vet will be able to detemine if it is!
let us know how you get on :tu:

Just back from the vets! He said was the right thing to bring her in as its best to get on top of it before it gets worse! So he gave her a jab which she HATED (I felt awful for bringing her after the way she squealed my poor girl!) and she needs another jab in three weeks then another three weeks after that. He chose not to jab Elsa as she is not showing any symptoms. They're both back in their cage now and Crunchie is happily munching on hay so hopefully her ordeal has not traumatised her too much!

I hope the meds work and be sure to let use know how it goes!
