Hi everyone,
I hope you can help. Over the last couple of days we've noticed a couple of very small pieces of what looks like crust develop on our Audrey's eye. The photo below hopefully shows this. They are very small pieces, and look nothing like pictures of fungal or mites or anything else that I've been looking into, but we get worried at the smallest of things with our guineas so hope that at this late hour someone can tell us what this might be.

Apart from that he seems to have no dandruff, is eating well and exercising fine. Please can anyone help as to what this might be and if we should be concerned/what course of action we should take?

Tonight we noticed what looked like one small piece on his cage mate Marilyn's eye, but we're not sure if it was the same thing as it seemed to just rub off. Both boys, around 8 months old if that makes a difference. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I dont think its a problem, just how humans have crust in their eyes in the morning, guiea pigs probably do too! Mine does and my vet sais its fine just wipe it off

If they are eating fine and you havent noticed any changes in behavior then they should be okay :)

Thanks both, that's reassuring. I thought that was the case but I just wanted to check. When you start looking around for info you find everything from it's nothing to it's a URI, bacterial infections, fungal infections all sorts, but i trust peoples opinions on this site above all others!
I'll keep an eye on it and if increases I'll take the little ones to the vets. Oh the worry never ends being paranoid guinea parents!
