I'm posting this for a friend whose daughter has baby piggies (about 10 weeks). The piggies have been seen by a Local vet (non cavy savvy) who is not sure what this scab/crust on the nose is. Any views @helen105281 @Wiebke ?

I agree with your vet - it is difficult to say whether it is fungal/cheilitis or respiratory (URI) based. For the time I would just keep a close eye on it and see whether it just falls off or whether other symptoms materialise over the course of the next days.

Fungal is a possibility but there doesn't seem to be any hair loss. Are they boys or girls? If boys then dried boar glue may be a possibility?

Do they all have it?
The other has had it, too but her scab has dropped off and her nose looks clean and dry now. There was a patch on her ear - vet prescribed a corticosteroid cream for 5 days and that has cleared up. This looks like fungal to me but I'm no expert as none of mine has had fungal so I thought it was worth canvassing views on here with the experts ;)
