Crusty dry edge of ear?

Machu has a crusty edge of his ear and little bits look like they're coming off it. Any idea what this is? Is it normal? Does it need anything on it etc? He's not scratching any more than normal or anything like that

Please see a vet. Not all fungal itches but we cannot tell you for sure. Please do not home treat on spec.

Saw the vet this afternoon and she bathed his ear and removed the scabby parts. Thankfully not a fungal infection / ringworm etc. Just advised to keep him moisturised with Vaseline for a couple of days. She said it looked like he had a reaction to something. All is well I am happy to report
