Crusty fleece

Noticed the two fleece I have are crusty after washing in the spot Chez pees.

I've been using them for a year and have two extra I don't use.

Can I still use the crusty ones? It wicks but is kinda hard to the touch. Is it getting clean?

Does soaking the spot in vinegar help? It might be sludge crystals.

I'll try it.

I don't notice anything different when he pees on the coroplast. His pee looks normal.

Sometimes the fleece on my Guinea Dad Liners gets crusty. It always goes away in the wash though. I wonder what the difference is

We had a few go crunchy, I found a long soak or an extra rinse in the washing machine helped.

I did a 15 minute soak, it helped.

I have a newish fleece that had gone hard in two places. After reading this this thread, I put the fleece on a longer wash on a "Bubble soak" which means it soaks in the water for an extra half a hour before the rinsing starts. It is now soft again in one place and not so hard in the other. I reckon another couple of washes like this and the whole fleece will be nice and soft again.

I'm lucky, the only crusty bits on mine are boar glue. Master Boris is very helpful with reducing them as I've caught him chewing at them
