So (touch wood)my fighting baby boars are back together and despite the odd rumble towards each other they seem fine. On checking them this morning one had a crusty nose. My first thought was that he had been attacked as that seemed to be where he got bit but actually it is more crusty like snot. Quick search on net and I suspect it is a fungal infection. Does this need to be seen by a vet? Can anyone recommend a course of action for poor Ted?

He will need to see a vet as soon as possible as it can spread quickly. Good luck.

Please have him seen by a vet to get the right diagnosis. Treating on spec can make things worse!

We have got a piggy savvy vet locator on the top bar for our UK members.

Wiebke is right about seeing a vet and getting the right diagnosis. Our Cupcake has a crusty nose now and again around the nostrils. (like a crusty nosed infant child).
She often has a crackle alongside. She is presently on septrin and clearing up nicely.

Just been out and bought to you pet transporters as they will fight if in a small space together. Going to take both down to the vets tonight as they haven't been yet and would be good to get them both checked over

Vets opinion is that Ted has something stuck up his nose so we have to monitor him. They didn't want to give antibiotics as he is still young so trying to avoid them if we can. Sods law as I got him out of hutch to go to vets he also had a cut on his nose. I suspect that was from his brother so we are back to closely monitoring them with regards to fighting

She tried with a microscope torchy vet tool but couldn't be sure so monitoring it for now
