crusty tissues on the nipples

Hi,

When I adopted my guinea pig Toffee, I found her nipples have some unusual tissues, so I took her to the vet and the vet gave her a month of anti-fungi oral medication. She has finished the course but the nipple is still the same. Any idea what may be the reason if not the ringworm?



Also, her butt never had enough hair, after I gave her a shower, I found there are some black dots on her skin. Since she pooped in the bath, I'm not sure if those black dots are her poop or some bugs. Any idea?

Crusty nipples and hair loss can point to a hormonal issue/ovarian cysts. I would ask your vet to check her for those issues

thanks, I'll take her to the vet asap. Any recommendation for pet insurance? I'm in the U.S though

I’m afraid I can’t help with insurance, being uk based I don’t know anything about the US insurance market but I also don’t tend to bother with insurance and instead just have a pet bank account for regular saving to cover vet costs.
