and her first treatment to prevent any more skin episodes, the others had a powder application and nail trim, she will have her powder tomorrow.

She was quite relaxed in the sink and not so worried about what I was doing, I think she finds the bath soothing and for a pig with itchy skin it must be nice to have a bath. Anyway after a rub down, which she also seemed to enjoy I got to have a cuddle while she dried off more.

not impressed mum

Bless her, she widdled on me while cuddling but I think she relaxed enough to do so as she was a bit sulky to begin with and then she decided lettuce was too tempting to resist.

her fur has finally grown back - its been 4 long weeks :... poor love has looked a right neglected piggie but its just where she gets so irritated she makes it worse. So fingers crossed I can stop this from happening as once it starts and I put the ivormec spot on she gets worse as that irritates the skin too :( so I am trying to avoid the need to ivormec - if that makes sense.

Aww poor girl! What's making her skin so itchy - mites or something else?

its hay lice, she had them once in the summer and I got rid of them, thought I was being cautious while they were inside and the blighters got in again - its always near the end of a bag of hay (a bag lasts a week) before I find they have infiltrated. Both times as soon as I saw itching and a red patch on crystal I examined each pig and low and behold there they were mallethead The others never react like she does but as soon as a red patch appears its down hill for her till I can settle her skin back again. I always feel such a horrible owner as she just rapidly reacts and it can snowball till she looks like I have not looked after her, but once I get her skin back to salmony pink she stops reacting so much. It is hard to explain without sounding like I have a case of mites - it is lice, I dread to think what would happen if she had mites and how long it would take her to recover

Blimming creepy crawlies! I do always wonder what's in some of hays! I only ever bought the Oxbow Timothy hay as I knew it was sterilised but it's over £30 for a big bag so i've started using cheaper hays and just having that as a treat. Fin's been having a few skin issues, Suzy's been helping and it sounds like it's a mild case of fungal - like our dandruff, the girls are absolutely fine but his skin is super sensitive! He might be a boy but gosh he requires a lot of care and attention what with his silky long hair :))

Bless her x) she's so pretty. Hope she feels better soon

Really helpful! I think i'll try mine for corn on the cob! X
