Hiye!

I've read that most piggies favourite veg is cucumber! (But i hates it lololol)
But i just went to the supermarket and bought some for them.

Sugar (2mths++) and Coffee (Which seems like still kinda small.. mmaybe 3 weeks i guess) .. issit safe to give them eat cucumber? and how much is the amount daily?

Doesn't want to overdo it.. so i'm gonna introduce it slowly.. i hope the cucumber which i cutted, won't spoil so easily if i keep it in the fridge right? =)

Mine LOVE cucumber I'm sure yours will too O0 I cut mine in small circular shapes as anyone else would and I'm sure that would be fine for yours :D

hehe how often do u feed them?
becos this is the 1st time i give them cucumber and i doesn't want to upset their stomachhh..

how much do u give them usuallie? as in for 1 piggie?
:smitten: :smitten: :smitten: thanks all

I cut mine into rounds and give 1/2 inch per pig. I only give it once a week though as its full of water. Mine all love it and it is the first thing they go for. :)

hehehe okok thanks!

erm.. off topic, how about carrots?
It seems that different forum said different things.

Issit alright to give carrots daily?

I give a very small piece daily, again half an inch per pig. Some people say every other day or very rare. My motto is little and often wouldn't feed a lot of carrots. :)

heheh alright!

I supposed i won't feed them too much yet.. afraid they will have diahorrea.

but the cucumber i got is kinda big, about 200g+... so i only cut a small piece just now and put back into the fridge in ziplock bag... how long do u guys keep the cucumber in the fridge?

I wouldn't wan to give a spoil or unfresh cucumber to them.. hehe so sorrie if i ask stupid qn xD

It normally keeps well. I would say a week but to prevent the end from drying out which can happen especially if your fridge is really cold I would put tin foil on the end thats open it keeps better that way.

Ask away they may seem silly to you but if you don't ask you don't know. :)

I was told by the pet shop when I got mine that I should gradually introduce cucumber and shouldn't really give them it when they were so young (they were 8 weeks old) because it would just run through them. They get it every now and then but they absolute love it - I never give them it as a treat when its cuddle time though because then your guaranteed to be peed on. ;D

hehehe i only give 2 small slice per piggies... they keep wheeking for more! hahahahaa.. but wouldn't wanna risk getting them having diahorreaaa~

Why does it being full of water make it bad to give every day? Surely they will just drink less water, or wee more. I'm new to guineas so may have missed something.

Too much of watery veg can cause tummy upsets. :)

Variety is the spice of life when feeding any food to pigs. ;D

my piggies love cucumber, i cut it into little cubes for them.

but just an idea for you, my piggies favourite is dandilion leafs, i always throughly wash them.

when they hear the front door the expect you to have dandilion leafs or they fault out with you

my piggies love cucumber :smitten: i feed about 1/2 inch every couple of days and same with carrots :)

My 2 must be odd because they don't seem keen on cucumber. They have a tiny nibble and then just leave it. For some reason, they don't seem to like veggies that are 'wet' 98)

Hahahaha Claire! Yea.. Coffee is like this too.. she prefer dried food.. >.<

Whereas Sugar just eat everything hahahaha~

Heheh thankie!
My mum and sister keep laughing at me for giving them such names. muahahaha~ but doesn't Sugar and Coffee mix well together? =P

Oh you, i doesn't really give them eat a lot of vege actuallie.. and this shouldn't be much harm to them isn't?
