my old piggies used to love cucumber and wheep like mad when anyone went near the fridge!do other people give cucumber to their pigs?
 
I do - some of mine love it, others can take it or leave it depending on what else is on offer drool
 
Mine love cucumber, especially the green skin on the outside. If i dont chop it small enough, they leave the middle bit! They prefer parsley though, absolutely love it!
 
It's one of the few things they would eat when I first brought them home. They're now learning that other things are tasty too but they still love cucumber! It's not high in calcium so safe to feed every day.
 
Mine get their little piece of cucumber as night night tidbit or special treat when I need to give one of them "doctor".
 
My girls love it, its their breakfast nearly every morning with a bit of parsley & now when anyone goes into the kitchen or open the fridge it seems like their saying "GIVE ME SOME!" LOL
 
It's a firm favorite with mine, we grow our own, so there's plenty for them at the moment. I'm not sure how good it is nutritionally, since it has such a high water content, but it's good for water at elast, especially in the summer (usually at least, not such an issue this year...)

That's funny, mine leave the outside and eat the middle bit!
 
It's amusing to hear of such quirky piggies! Mine are not so fussy, cucumber is not their favourite but they do get a small piece daily.
 
grew loads on our allotment so our girls have daily cucumber and runner beans!
 
Mine love it to along with spring greens and tomatos.Didn't relise they liked parsley to will have to get some and try thanks x
 
My girls does not like cucumbers or lettuce..I dunno what to do. My boys used to love it and it makes me sad :(
 
I tried 3 days in a row with cucumbers too..nothing. Any suggestions? I bought 3 different kinds of lettuce..they only like apples and grapes so far..

try changing the way you cut it up they might like it when its in smaller pieces. try spring cabbage my boys (who arent talking to me yet) are munching on that at the moment
 
mine like cucumber, two prefer tomato better
i try to grow my own veg for the guineas, they love home-grown even more!
 
I have always fed cucumber. It is particularly nice for piggies in the summer when the temperature is hot (ok, well warm rolleyes) and it is also very good for under-the-weather piggies as it is an excellent way of getting hydration into them if they are not drinking much.

Also it is good if you are supplementing their diet with powders or need to add liquid antibiotics .... just pop it on a piece of cucumber.
