Hehe was giving cuddles to Lola last night and she started cherping I'm assuming this is a good noise :) and it freaked out my little sister as she has never heard a guinea pig before, but I'm still trying to figure out her breed, I would love it if you could, her coat is super shiny and soft so she's a satin that's for sure but I doubt she is a coronet which was my first thought xx

Hello, I'm not sure what breed Lola is but it is definitely normal for them to churp. My guinea bobby does it loads whilst I'm holding her and she doesn't stop! It is a sign of affection x

She is beautiful. The noise she is making is made by mine when they do not like something.

Hmm fair enough I'm to still learn her ways, she was whistling when I gave her a cuddle this morning x
I'm getting her a cagemate today so hopefully it will help I'm going to call her lelo so I will have Lola and lelo :D x

Aww that will be lovely. Be sure to introduce them on neutral ground.

Mine make that noise when they are annoyed, shes not a satin, shes a smooth haired and that might be a crest on her head but can't tell from angle :)

I was always under the impression that the purring sound is situational; mine do it in response to metallic noises, which I take to indicate displeasure, but also when being stroked on the back. One of them also does it when she's in a safe place; she'll happily lie down in a flexi-log house or similar and make purring sounds.

To be honest, if she didn't like having her back rubbed she'd be fidgeting and wriggling. When they lie flat and spread themselves into a little puddle of fur, its usually because they want stroking some more.

Lola is actually rumble strutting there. That means she's annoyed.

I aggree with this!
If she was rumble strutting she would be swaying her back end from side to side which she isn't here. Sounds like she is enjoying herself to me! Sometimes they make this noise because they are annoyed but other times they make it because they are happy :)

I agree with the Alcotroll. Sometimes my girls make this noise when getting chin rubs which they obviously enjoy. Sometimes they'll make it if they hear a loud noise which startles them and sometimes they'll make it when they're rumble strutting and showing signs of dominance.
Your girl looks quite relaxed and happy there so I'd guess that it's a happy noise.
