Alright I noticed this with my little Cavy queens today. There is no hair behind there ears. Its like bald patches but as both of them have it and it doesn't look scaly or red I'm guessing they are supposed to have these.

Can anyone tell me why this is this way?

All 3 of mine have small bald patches behind their ears so I just assumed it was normal

Oh yeah it's normal. Well all mine have had it. First time I saw it it looked weird too

Studley's look like crossweave - so it makes him look like a teddy that's been loved bald x)

But yeah, all mine have it too

A friend of mine says the bald spot makes for an excellent kissing spot

All my boys have it too. Maybe its a scent spot or something? Don't know just a guess. :{

am so glad I read this post, spotted my pig's 'bald patches' after their bath and was a little concerned, although not anymore! :<>

yep definately normal although I'm not sure why they have it, not thought about that before.

It's normal, as are bald patches on the inside of their front legs - in case anybaody wondered!

The bald patches can vary in size, but most piggies have them!

mine have them too, and Maddox's are quite big!

some of mine are massive, and some really small, but they're all normal
