hi,
URGENT.
i was holding one of my boys,rodders/rodney, and i notice one of the nails on his left front foot is curled under! really worried :( it not even as though it grown to long because i check their nails all the time. so its short but bent over / curled down. he does have a condition where he walks funny as he has had a hip deformity since birth. we had him checked by the vets about that and the vet was 100% POSSITIVE he would manage perfectly. so i always spoil him and make it so the hutch and run are suitable for him :p so do i need to take him to the vets? do i need to do anything will he be okay?really worried for my poor little rodney. hope you know whats going on or what is best to do. any advice will be most greatful thank you :)

My Amina has curly nails too. They are difficult to cut when they are like that. All you can really do is to try to keep trimming them so they get shorter and not so curly.

As pigs get older than nails do thicken an curve. Dittos 'thumb' nail if he had a thumb on his left foot curls right round and i have to trim it regular so it doesnt go into his pad :/

Linney has curly nails too... they are a pain to cut, and seem to get curlier as she gets older. We just try to trim them small amounts frequently to keep them under control and keep them from getting too long. They don't seem to bother her. HTH!

Tommy and Ronnie's nails were exactly the same. And they hated having them cut too and whhheeekkkked like they were poked with a hot needle when I did them!

Whereas my two new girlies being youngsters have lovely straight nails so far - and were good as gold when I trimmed them the other day! x
